Metering and control unit used in a one phase, two wire power network. It complies with the STS standard and communicates with a CIU, which works as keypad, via MBUS for energy consumption, monitoring and credit loading. The metering device is installed outside the consumer's premises, whilst the CIU is installed within the home. This provides increased security, whilst ensuring consumer convenience,
